Nestled between the warm sands and blankets of sunrays, boutique hotels are a common décor along the beach; but even in the midst of these trendy domiciles, the glamour of a landmark hotel never dwindles. Enter the Fontainebleau Resort. Set to re-open in mid November, the modern updates to this classic hotel are sure to set the tone among competing hoteliers. Emerging from the original vision of legendary architect Morris Lapidus, FB combines striking design, contemporary art, music, fashion and technology. Comprised of four towers, the newest addition will be the Chateau. The posh hotel has also extensively installed an Energy Focus lighting systems as part of their $1 billion renovation and expansion. Energy Focus's unique, and energy efficient, lighting systems are a key part of the “bleau's” renovation and revitalization. Utilizing its Fiberstars lighting technologies to create beautiful and dramatic effects, Energy Focus installed over 8,000 star point lights, illuminated five swimming pools, two spas and two fountains. Perhaps most spectacularly, Energy Focus will light the exterior of the hotel's spa, and create one-of-a-kind LED-illumination for a water sculpture at the renowned Gotham Steak, the hotel's signature steakhouse by Michelin-star chef Alfred Portale. Once it fully opens, the Fontainebleau will become SOBE’s largest employer, just recently hiring more than 2,000 people. Fueling more tourism and filling the need for employment comes just in the nick of time for a major event. The powerhouse of push-up bras and naughty angels, Victoria’s Secret will unleash their supermodels for its annual live holiday lingerie fashion show on the FB grounds. Following in VS’s gorgeous footsteps, Sustainable Life Media, the leading producer of sustainable business conferences and newsletters will descend upon the hotel December 9th-11th. The conference will help participants identify and capitalize on opportunities for consistent, sustainability-driven revenue growth and brand value in global markets. Talk about a grand (and gorgeous) opening!
