CHANEL: Cruise Collection

More than 500 friends and fans of Chanel filled the Raleigh Hotel for the premier of the CHANEL: Cruise Collection fashion show. A nod to the Cruise collection’s sensibility, the event kicked off with gorgeous models sashaying down the runway in looks that were reminiscent of 1970’s Vegas and ended with luscious knit-covered swimsuits, the entire collection paired masculine and feminine. The show concluded with the U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swim Team, each dressed with swimsuits in a C-H-A-N-E-L formation, diving into the pool. The audience roared with applause as the swimmers broke into an electro-rock-infused dance in the water. Following the show, guests were treated to a champagne and lobster dinner followed by dancing. Most noted, at the end of the evening, was Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue editrix Anna Wintour dancing the night away, underneath the stars amongst a bevy of models.
