Bust out those four-leaf-clovers and get ready to sip on some green beer. Today, St. Patrick’s Day, everybody is Irish. As such we have prepared this handy guide to make your shamrocks shimmer with glee. Below you will find some of the best places in town to spend this obligatory feast day.
The Playwright: This place is typically filled to the brim on any given day, but on St. Patty’s day it’s packed to the rafters. It’s a favorite with locals who are looking to get away from the nightclubs and enjoy good conversation over traditional Irish fare.
The Playwright: 1265 Washington Ave, Miami Beach; 305-534-0667; theplaywright.net.
Clarke’s: This new kid on the block is a regular haunt for the south of fifth crowd, not to mention Burn Notice’s Jeffrey Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar. It’s a tiny location, but the homey feel and the delicious food make it one of the best places to spend an evening with friends. Get there early; otherwise this place will be standing room only.
Clarke’s: 840 1st St, Miami Beach; -305-538-9885; clarkesmiamibeach.com.
Finnegan’s Way: This, the original location, is a favorite with tourists who crowd the Ocean Drive hot spot. It features indoor and outdoor seating and usually keeps the festivities rolling till 5 am. It will no doubt be filled with spring breakers going crazy on their break from finals.
Finnegan’s Way: 1344 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, (305) 672-7747; finnegansway.com.
Finnegan's Too: Even though this place is tiny, it does have indoor and outdoor seating. For some reason unbeknownst to all, the locals bypass the original location and head straight for this one on Lincoln Road. It might have something to do with the roast beef sandwich, which is defiantly the cat’s meow. Still, for St. Patrick’s Day expect all manner of debauchery, leprechauns and green colored beverages.
Finnegan's Too: 942 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach, 305-538-7997;
Mike’s: This off-the-beaten-path destination is a favorite of politicos and journalists alike. Situated on the ninth floor of the Venetian across the street from The Miami Herald building, Mike’s offers spectacular views of the bay and Miami Beach in a casual environment that features pool tables and incredible happy hour specials. If you’ve never been there, what better time to try it out then on St. Patrick’s Day?
Mike’s: 555 NE 15th St, #935, Miami, 305-374-5731; mikesvenetia.com.
