Miami Beach

According to a recent article in Maxim Magazine, Miami Beach is the crème of the crop when it comes to nighttime debauchery. In fact, we even beat out Vegas, which came in a close second. What the article failed to mention was that even halfway across the country in the Nevada desert, Miami is still very well represented. How so? Well, for starters, The Opium Group, which owns Prive, Set, and Mansion, just opened up a new extravagant version of Prive, called Prive LV. Still, that’s just the beginning. Those in the know about Miami Beach nightlife will no doubt rave about the swank celebrity heavy parties put together by the boys of Empire Events. Well, guess who will be supervising the festivities in Vegas this week? You guessed it. Joey Firestone, one Empire’s party personalities. Matt Heien, principle of Eastside PR, another Miami personality is yet another character that commutes back and forth from the 305 to the LV, often bringing along celebrities and athletes to his events. Then there’s David Grutman, who never leaves the city without Ashley Simpson or Gabrielle Union in tow. What’s the mystique of Sin City and why are Miami personalities so readily found in the dessert? I’m not sure, but I plan to find out. I’m heading there this weekend to sleuth around the town and let you know what you’re missing. For those who want to experience Vegas without ever leaving the beach, my suggestion to you this week is to stop by Mansion, Prive or Set. Follow the Empire Events crew or find Grutman at the velvet ropes in front of Cameo and ask him. Of course, you could always wait till next week’s The Cover for me to relay the Vegas breaks to you. That is, of course, if I ever make it back.
