The Flamingo South Beach is an odd amalgamation of business professionals and youthful debaucheries. On any random Monday morning, take a ride in the elevator and you’re likely to share it with a lawyer or some twenty-something resident stumbling home smelling of alcohol and cigarettes. Much like a college dormitory where a med school student and a rowdy fraternity guy sharing a room wouldn’t seem incredibly out of place, so too does the eclectic mix at the Flamingo seem right at home (pardon the pun) on the streets of South Beach. Oh, and just like any respectable dormitory wouldn’t be complete without a kegger or two, so too do the residents at the condo with the signature blue halo on the roof know how to throw a bash. The excuse this last SuperBowl Sunday, was, well, the SuperBowl. The resident’s party took place in the main courtyard and featured a myriad of amenities. A giant jumbo-tron was erected right on the lawn and Malibu Rum gave away tropical drinks all night. The food was a manly selection of hearty beef from Novecento, an Argentinean steakhouse. And what party would be complete without music? Dek23, the somewhat recent addition to the Miami club scene, did what any new neighbor would do when they move in next door. They brought a DJ. This was fortuitous planning because when the crowd (mostly Giants fans) got to see their team win the Lombardi Trophy is when this party actually began.
