If there’s one thing us Miamians know how to do, it’s indulge. If desserts are your passion, then this sweet guide is for you. From the Gables to South of Fifth, here are some of the best après meal treats for your dinning pleasure.
Before you’re even out of bed at the luxurious resort in Key Biscayne, Pastry Chef Frédéric Monnet and his team are in the kitchen preparing a rotating menu of 32 decadent desserts served at the Ritz-Carlton’s signature restaurant Cioppino. The desert table itself is a sight to behold (check out our image below). If you can’t find an item to satisfy your sweet tooth here, you simply must have been born without one.

Sail over to Sunset Harbor’s Joe Allen Restaurant for some of Miami’s finest (although they also have locations in London, New York and Paris) desserts. We adore the Warm Date Pudding with Toffee Sauce (priced at a moderate $8). That being said, nothing on the dessert menu is priced over $8, which means you won’t feel guilty ordering two, or, at least your wallet won’t.

Chef Jean Paul Desmaison presents a fusion of Mediterranean and Peruvian flavors in the Gables at La Cofradia. Whether it’s for an after dinner treat or a simple indulgence, we recommend the Chocolate Marquise (pictured below) or the Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake. Desserts range in price from $8 - $10.

The New York Times can’t stop raving about Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, and neither can we. Known for dishes boasting light, healthy and local ingredients, don’t expect anything less from the dessert menu. Our favorite pick? The Angel Food Cake with Cayenne Spiced Strawberries & Whipped Cream (pictured below).

If you’re looking for a special splurge, take a trip to SoFi’s Prime 112. While you know it’s almost inevitable to have to wait for a table, make sure to take the time to stick around for dessert. Here the menu boasts items that will conjure memories of your childhood fantasies – Fried Oreos ($12) and Chocolate & Peanut Butter Smores ($12) – who can resist?

Sushi Samba Dromo recently rolled out a new dessert menu and we’re hooked on the light and fruity selections. If you’re looking for something sweet, yet not too heavy – try the Kiwi Tiradito or the Warm Chocolate Banana Cake. Also, the fresh fruit plate is out of this world.
