Star Jones and Latin designer, Rene Ruiz, at Pawpurrazzi, a Humane Society benefit.

On Friday night Jungle Island went completely to the dogs. Pawpurrazzi, a fund raising event for the Humane Society was a star-studded evening of food, fashion and entertainment. Aimed at raising $125,000 for the care of homeless animals, the event featured a dog and human fashion show and luxurious flower arrangements by Karla Dascal. Among the local VIPs socializing at the event were emcee Lisa Petrillo; TV personality Star Jones; University of Miami President Donna Shalala; developer Don Soffer; and philanthropists and socialites Donald and Lisa Pliner and Lola Jacobson. Latin designer Rene Ruiz was also there and participated in the dog/human fashion show.
