Weekend Preview: Up All Night

Weekend Preview: Up All Night
Luminarium, Architects of Air, Levity II

Thursday is here (yay!) and so are we with our weekend guide. Opportunities abound for your weekend enjoyment, so be prepared for a more than just a Sleepless Night. As always, check out our calendar for more events.

Thursday

Ease into the weekend with a trip to the Art Center of South Florida for Reverie+Revolt, a collaborative collage of several contemporary artists. Afterwards, wind-down with an exclusive wine dinner at Hi-Life Café, home to Bravo Top Chef star Carlos Fernandez.

Friday

Casual Friday? We recommend the Miami Dade Parks’ annual BBQ festival and cook-off featuring tunes from Phil Vassar and Grand Funk Railroad. Join Partners En Pointe at the Setai for an Indoor Fireworks Kick-Off Party (P.S. it’s invitation only). If your invitation got lost in your mail, take a stroll through the Gables for Gallery Night. Over 20 galleries open with free admission and cocktails.

Saturday

Two words: Sleepless Night. There’s no escaping it. This cultural takeover is happening all over the city. The festivities are concentrated in four areas: North Beach, Collins Park, Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. Begin at the North Beach Band Shell for a dose of Jazz from the South Florida Jazz Orchestra, then head down to the Collins Park Lawn for the premiere of the “Levity III” Luminarium, an interactive experience of color and light. Afterwards, show Lebo some love at his show in the Catalina Hotel. Click here for a special preview of Sleepless Night and here for our calender highlighting the evenings events.

Sunday

Recover from your sleepless night by heading over to the 24th Annual Miami Book Fair to pick-up a good read. Or, chill out by taking a stroll through the Lincoln Road Farmers Market, where you can shop for fresh flowers and produce. End your day taking in a show, we recommend “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” at the Playground Theater in Miami Shores.

Intrigued? As always, check out our calendar for more events.
