A Family Affair

Miami-based Café Bustelo has been a family affair since its inception in the 1930s. We journeyed inside the iconic factory with CEO José Enrique Souto.

Does Cafe Bustelo come in

Does Cafe Bustelo come in one pound cans or just the 10 oz cans? Where could I find the one pound cans if it does?

I like this coffee and use

I like this coffee and use it in my home espresso machine. I can actually buy it in 10 oz bricks at the CVS Drug Store for less than what I paid online.

Why didnt they continue to

Why didnt they continue to reflect all of their products if they are so proud? As you will notice in the beginning of this clip, they feature the PILON factory. That is because Cafe Bustelo only recently became a part of their coffee repertoire. Being that my grandfather ownedthe original Cafe Bustelo fatory in Miami, Pilon became a rival. Unable to attain the equivalent success of Cafe Bustelo, they purchased it among many other products they produce out of their Miami based plant. I must say that they are a strong family business and even attended my grandfather's funeral, they are wonderful people but I must say it burns a little to see our name not reflected! Just google them and you will see - Miami Coffee Company Buys Brands from London-Based Group.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News, February, 2000 by Whitefield, Mimi"Feb. 9--Miami's Rowland Coffee Roasters has tightened its grip on the cafe Cubano/espresso market with the purchase of Cafe Bustelo and other Hispanic coffee brands from the London-based Tetley Group." Just check the archives at the Miami Herald and you will see on the front page Manuel P. Garcia, my grandfather and huge article about the roasting of his coffee beans. Not out of disrespect but out of respect. He would have been proud to share the spotlight with you.
